Irish Revolution [British Isles & US ONLY] Empty Irish Revolution [British Isles & US ONLY]

    Post  Eireann Ó'Reilly April 11th 2012, 12:16 am

In the Easter Rebellion of 1916, the Irish made an attempt at capturing the city of Dublin and declaring the independence of Ireland. The rebellion was unsuccessful, primarily due to limited support from the Irish people. However, Britain’s severe reaction, including the execution of 15 Irish nationalist leaders, outraged the Irish population and set the stage for the nationalist group Sinn Fein to become the dominant political party in Ireland. Thus beginning a revolution...

Irish Revolution [British Isles & US ONLY] Erin10

A storm was brewing. Rain battered the uneven cobblestones of the Dublin streets and clouds shadowed the city from above. It was early evening and the citizens were all making mad dashes to get home before the storm really settled in. However, as the noisy bustle of the town calmed, a single band of rebels was lying in wait for the perfect moment to spring. The square was bustling with British soldiers, on the lookout for the very sort who were watching them from the shadows. A dark snicker passed from the lips of the rebellion leader; they didn't suspect a thing.

Eireann studied the combat knife she wielded, her mind running through her plan over and over. It was their perfect chance. The streets were void of citizens due to the rain and the soldiers were miserable. The blood would wash right down the storm drain without ever reaching the authorities, or so she thought. Her plan was simple: take the soldiers by surprise, slit their necks silently, enter the Parliament building, force submission, and declare Irish Independence, once and for all. Her brother had refused her political pleas, and so, it was time for action.

With a cruel grin, she turned around to face her accomplices, most Irish, but a few Americans as well. The one she addressed was none other than her own little brother, the newest addition to her family, America himself. She placed a hand on his shoulder, pulling a serious look into her emerald eyes, desperate to cover the insanity that brewed just beneath.

"Ya sure ya wanna do this, Al? I won't think bad of ya if ya just return home... It is my revolution after all..."

She smiled lightly to him, making sure he understood. She cared for him like any older sister would; she would not have him injured or captured on her behalf. All she wanted was freedom, but as soon as he caught word of it from some of his Irish citizens, he'd rushed over to help out. It had surprised the Irish girl, but she really didn't mind the help. They needed all they could get if they were going to challenge the British Empire.

Standing at the front of the group, which was mixed with Irish and American soldiers, was Alfred F. Jones. He had entered the Irish territory upon hearing that Arthur Kirkland was refusing to give Eireann, his sister, her Independence. Independence was important for any nation, and it was something Alfred had fought for years ago. Ironically enough, he and Eireann were and had fought for Independence from the same person. The American sighed, raking a hand through his wet hair. Arthur refused to understand - they may be his family, but they refused to be ruled under British law. They needed freedom from him. And no matter how much it broke Alfred's heart to betray Arthur like this, who was currently one of his allies, he could not sit back and watch his sister be tormented by him.

"I'm not backing down, Eireann. I came here with a promise to you that I would help you earn your freedom, and I intend to keep that promise." He said. He just barely returned a smile. No happiness could really be seen within his expression. He was more than happy to help her, but he was sickened by the idea his men were going to attack British soldiers. He knew once the bodies started to fall and bloodshed began to take over, he would be forced into reawakened nightmares of the Revolution between him and Arthur.

He turned just slightly, noticing a group of men were waiting on his signal. They had been ordered to flank the British soldiers once the Irish pushed them the opposite way. He lifted a gloved hand and gave them the confirmation signal. He could see his men struggling to see through the rain, but once they realized what their orders were, they scurried off in the other direction.

With a sigh, Eireann withdrew her hand, nodding to her American brother. She watched him give his signal and waved off her own men, sending them in after the British soldiers. The Irish were notorious for their rowdiness and rebellious nature, and the scene that unfolded was a prime example of it.

The Irishmen rushed in and opened fire like a crowd of insane drunks. They put on such a performance though, it actually embarrassed the girl, causing a hand to fly to her face. "Those idiots..!" She rolled her eyes and gave up after a few seconds, seeing as they were completing their task anyway. It was guerrilla warfare. Just a series of surprise attacks from all around. As long as they reached their goal, nothing else mattered.

Before joining her men on the scene, Eireann threw her arms around Alfred in a tight hug.

"...I'm sorry you have to go through this again... But, thank you.. Good luck."

She flashed him one of her classic grins before rushing in, helping to run off the Brits with a few well aimed pistol shots. The rain splashing around her feet seemed to have no effect on Ireland. She was a wild girl to whom a little storm was as natural as breathing. It was clear that they had the advantage of the weather as the Brits began to trip and fall upon the slippery pavement.

Arthur looked up from his desk to see some of his men rushing past, talking quickly and running swiftly through the door. He got from his desk and pulled aside a soldier as he ran past. The look in his eyes was enough for Arthur to realize what was going on. It was another riot. God, he was so sick of trying to keep his sister under control. Does she not understand how much strain he was going through enough by being involved in the Great War?

The Brit followed the soldier and the rest of them, already angry and thinking of the talk he was going to give Ireland. He forgot to put on a coat but that didn't matter. He was accustomed to the rain. As he approached the scene, he saw Eireann firing away at his people. He frowned and pulled out his own weapon of choice; his beloved sword worn with experience and battle.

"I suggest you stop this little act of yours before I trully lock you up, Eireann." He said seriously, dodging his men who seemed to be struggling. "You know the answer to this crazy 'independence' tak, but why don't you just quit it? You know what I'm going to say, after all."

The American closed his eyes as Eireann hugged him and much to his surprise, was able to return it. He leaned his head against hers for the short moment they embraced one another. When she let go, he nodded and turned in the opposite direction. He flinched at the first fired shot and from then on out, never flinched again. He was used to war - this would not be any different. Half his men had gone with Eireann, another chunk to flank the British soldiers, and the last of them remained with him.

"Jones," One of his men addressed him. Alfred did not require that they call him by rank, but just by his name. It made him feel more closer to them. He turned his head upon hearing his name. "We will have taken the British by surprise only this once. We do not have enough men to fight an entire war. You need to recruit more." He urged his nation leader.

Alfred shook his head. "More men won't be necessary. I don't plan for this Revolution to last that long. Arthur and Eireann will come to some agreement before then." He assured his soldier. The other American looked ready to argue, but decided against it. He then signaled to the rest of the men that were left behind and followed it behind the first group.

Alfred climbed to a higher point, using the hill to get down on and glance over at the town. He watched as men fell - watched as Eireann battled so skillfully. His eyes scanned the area, a shot gun close at hand. His eyes stopped upon Arthur and his lips parted. Did Arthur realize Americans were there? Would Eireann mention him? His heart suddenly ached. Would Arthur ever forgive him?

No...that was something foolish to ask. Arthur had probably not even forgiven him for his fighting for his own Independence...so, why would this be any different? Arthur would only view it as another betrayal, wouldn't he? Alfred sighed, aiming his shotgun at the men who came in behind Arthur. He would shoot if Arthur told them to attack.

Ireland smirked darkly as she turned around to face her British brother. In one swift motion, she switched out her pistol for her combat knife, twirling the blade skillfully in her hands. Her men, Alfred's men, and Arthur's men were all falling beside her; she couldn't afford to back down. Pointing the knife at her brother, eyes hinting at her growing insanity for blood-lust, she let out a sinister laugh.

"Times 'ave changed brother! I'm not gettin' locked up anytime soon! The war's just beginning... And if ya wanna save yer men, I suggest ya do so while ya still 'ave the chance. My men don't give up easily. We won't stop until every necessary drop o' British blood is spilled..." She narrowed her eyes. "And then some~"

She tapped the tip of his blade with her own, ready for a challenge. "C'mon brother~ Let's 'ave it out. Right 'ere, right now. I'd like to see ya try an' lock me up fer real! HAH!"

The sweet older sibling that Ireland had once been had appeared to have died within her, smothered by the desperation of her people, and the suffering they'd been put through. She faced her brother fearlessly, prepared to take any injury that was needed for victory. She valued sacrifice above all. It was the element that drove her. Many men had died for her cause. It was time she put herself on the front lines beside them.

Arthur frowned deepened before it was replaced by concern. Apart from sensing the insanity radiating off his sister, he felt the need to bring her old self, the one that wasn't so obsessed with independence, back from the depths that she was currently engulfed in.

"If you dare do anything rash, like this right now, you will be imprisoned for quit a while." He said seriously, clenching his jaw in frustration. He didn't want to hurt any of his family members, but he couldn't let his men get slaughtered by the Irish either.

"Fight you? man up? You must be joking! I'm not one to mess with, dear sister!" He yelled, swinging the sword against her small blade. Even if she fought with all her might, he would be the one with the upper hand. Someone as great as Arthur could never back down from a fight, even if it cost him all. Sacrifice was what he hated must, but it had to be done. As the Brit sparred with her, his mean took that as the signal to began firing. Some fired several rounds at the Irish wile others ensued with hand-to-hand combat.

The Irish female smirked as her brother swung his sword against her blade. She knew that her weapon would not suffice in a true spar against the Brit, so she decided to alter her fighting style slightly, just for him. Pulling back to make her own strike, she began to swing her blade down towards his shoulder, but before she made contact, she suddenly moved the position of her blade. Ducking lower to the ground, Eireann lunged forward and made a stab at Arthur's side, hoping to leave a gash in his upper abdomen.

She then jumped back, eyes watching and aware for his next move. "I'll mess with ya all I want! Ya can't scare me with jail threats, Arthur~" She smirked, chuckling to herself.

Without hesitation, Alfred started firing down on the British soldiers from his hiding place, purposely clipping them in the legs so they would fall to the ground. He followed a specific soldier that was heading straight for Eireann, moving his gun with the charging body until he finally fired. He gasped, moving his eye away from the scope. From there, he had come dangerously close to hitting Arthur as he sparred with his Irish sister. He sighed in relief, closing his eyes and leaning his forehead against his gun. Had he hit Arthur, he would have never forgiven himself...

He was pained enough as is to fire at British soldiers, people he hadn't fired at in lord knows how long. Lifting his head, he grasped his gun and started shooting again.

From the back of the battlegrounds, a wave of American's came from the backside, charging in on the fighting Brits and Irish. Several literally threw themselves at the British soldiers, taking them to the ground before they would stab them or shoot them to death. Alfred's plan at flanking them had succeeded.

Arthur gasped at the sharp pain in his abdomen. How dare she do this! Since his threats were not taken seriosuly, he would have to use all his brute force to stop her and get her to finally back down. He swiftly slashed his sword across Eireann's abdomen, slicing her skin along with fabric of her clothing. Every hit he took from his sister, he would attack with twice the damage.

"You leave me no choice.." He said, gripping the sword tightly in his hand. "KILL THEM ALL!!" He shouted, ordering his men to slaughter the rebels. More soldiers came at his call, causing as much damage to the Irish and American forces to force a retreat or ceasefire.

Things were certainly heating up upon the urban battlefield. As the American forces rushed in, Eireann grinned brightly. Their plan was starting to look promising again. Although, it was in her momentary distraction that her brother landing a damaging swipe to her abdomen. The pain that seared through her wound to tell her of its extent. Her wound upon him hadn't been too serious, but if he was going for twice the harm to her, then she was in trouble. Blood was flowing from her open cut, staining her clothes and making small crimson puddles on the ground. Even in the rain, the dark liquid was still visible. She wrapped her left arm, free from any weapon at the moment, around her abdomen to slow the bleeding. Panting lightly, she narrowed her eyes angrily at Arthur.

But her narrowed glare didn't last long, for only moments later, it widened in shock. Her brother had given an order that equaled to slaughter as more scores of British troops poured into the small streets. The guerrilla force that Eireann had put together, even with the American's support, wouldn't last long against so many highly trained soldiers. She growled and clashed her blade with Arthur's. She made no other moves outside of pushing back against him, blade against blade in a test of strength. In that clash, emerald eyes drilled deeply into one another as if words weren't even necessary.

"Take it back!! You know you already have the advantage! This is just man slaughter!!" She hissed at him with a venomous tone. He had gone too far. She had expected him to push them back like any opposing nation would, but never did it occur to her that he would use such a brutal tactic on her men. Such violence was normally something that separated the two siblings from one another. Now, she was finding the reality of his words hard to believe.

When Eireann was wounded, the American lowered his rifle, looking past the gun at her. He could see the blood pooling on her clothes and it caused his eyes to widen with fear. "No..." He whispered. His blue gaze shifted to the line of British soldiers that suddenly rushed at the Irish soldiers, and his own soldiers. He winced as so many of their bodies fell, being trampled by British men. He lowered his head, pressing his forehead to his gun. Things were not looking good for him and Eireann.

Hearing her scream, he looked back up. Her words echoed within his head. She was right - Arthur was basically toying with them, showing his dominance over both teams. Before the American could say anything, he heard a faint whistling. As soon as he had heard it, it became silent and he suddenly cried out, shifting his body too fast. He grasped hold of his shoulder, gritting his teeth as he rolled down the side of the hill. Someone had shot him. Someone had actually seen him.

He kept rolling until he came to a stop, just feet away from where the Eireann held her ground to Arthur. British soldiers passing by recognized the American and took hold of his arms, forcing him to his feet. He cried out, feeling a seering pain his shoulder where the bullet had embedded itself. A hand clamped over his mouth, causing the American to taste leather from the glove. "General Kirkland! We have Jones!" One of the men called.

The American narrowed his eyes, jerking his arm free and elbowing the man on his right in the gut. He stumbled back, and with the American's right arm now free, he reached for the other man and flipped him to the ground, punching him across the face. He then stepped away from them and closer to the other two, grasping his bleeding shoulder. "Arthur..." The American nearly whispered, hair sticking to his face due to the rain. "Call off your attack..."

The look on Eireann's face nearly made him laugh. It was funny how she thought she could get her independence from him through force. Apparently she had forgotten how great of an empire he once was. Great power doesn't disappear just like that; it stays deep inside, hidden within the being. He smirked at her attempts to push his blade back with hers. What a fool his sibling could be. "A price you will have to pay for your men killing mine...What about 10 of your's for each one of mine killed~?" He said, mocking her in a show of the power he had.

    "General Kirkland! We have Jones!"

At the mention of his name, he turned his attention to the male that was captured. Oh, how the tables have turned. If only, those years back it would have been Alfred on his knees and not himself. Either way, Arthur would enjoy this small moment. "If it isn't the hero...Couldn't resist helping someone else with their fight for independence, could you?" He said, smirking at first but frowing in disgust and anger. The betrayal had stayed with him since that fateful day, along with the rain..

    "General Kirkland! We have Jones!"

The voice of Arthur's men caused Eireann's grip on her blade to tighten. She was already dropping in strength with the loss of her men and her wounds. Getting Alfred captured would only cause further harm to the situation. It wouldn't be long before she lost her grasp completely. The battle's victor was clear by then, but Arthur would have no idea what was coming. Just because he succeeded on this day, it didn't mean the war would end. Eireann was stronger than that. One defeat would never be enough to crush her spirit.

"If it isn't the hero...Couldn't resist helping someone else with their fight for independence, could you?"

The Irish girl growled at her British brother. "Leave 'im out of this Arthur... I'm your opponent, not 'im. If you 'ave to lock me up in some crummy prison then fine. Do it! But leave Al be. 'E's not the one rebellin' this time."

The American positively shuddered when Arthur spoke directly to him. He attempted to appear defiant, narrowing his eyes and curling one of his hands into a fist. As he made to reply, he was cut off, head snapping in Eireann's direction. What was she thinking? No. He was not going to back down and allow Arthur to only take her captive. "No!" He immediately snapped.

"If you're going to take her captive, you're taking me, too!" He nearly growled, shifting his gaze back to Arthur. "But, just understand, you're making a horrible mistake by doing this..."

The Brit looked at his sister and shook his head slowly like she was mistaken about everything. "Why shouldn't I punish him as well as yourself? BOTH of you were engaged in this pathetic excuse you call a rebellion. You BOTH deserve punishment." He said, giving her a cold glare.

Arthur turned his attention back to the American and gave him an eerie smile. "Since you are so brave and kind, all the punishment shall fall unto you..~" He said nicely. Flashing Ireland a smile as well, he ordered his men to take her to the prison but ordered the American to be brought to the dungeons to be dealt with there. "I'll show you what it's like to disobey my commands, my dearest sister..." He said to himself softly.

"NO! Alfred, don't!!" Eireann growled at him as he persisted in being taken in with her. The Irish woman knew too well how Arthur would respond to their younger sibling's bravery. She wouldn't allow Alfred to be tortured. She'd dealt with it before and would gladly serve it again if it meant Alfred went unharmed.

As the two were dragged away by the British soldiers, Eireann tried desperately to break free, pulling at their grasp and sending a gaze of utmost emotionless rage at her British sibling. "You 'aven't seen anythin' yet, Arthur!!! Just you wait!! This is only the beginning!!" A snarl ripped from her throat as another few soldiers were called over to hold her down. Even in her wounded state, she was still a fighter. But thanks to the efforts of one of the men, her fight was brought to a halt. A single well-aimed hit to the back of her neck forced her to fall unconscious. She was moved to the prison without hesitation.

Several hours later, Eireann awoke with a groan. Her vision was patchy for a few seconds as she grasped her surroundings. The cold stone floors and iron bars on the window and front wall led her to one obvious conclusion. But what really annoyed her in that moment was the exact style of the prison she had been put in. It must have been a cruel joke her brother had thought up - putting her in an old pirates' prison, and in addition, placing her in the cell she had once been captured in years ago. Such a mocking gesture caused her blood to boil. She shot up into a seated position but was instantly knocked back to the ground with an outburst of pain. The wound on her abdomen was bandaged tightly, and by the feel of it, someone had been using alcohol to keep the wound from festering. Thanks to her hasty actions, her body now burned like bloody hell from the sudden wave of shock brought by the pain.

Just wondering... Are Alfred and Ireland being held in some millitary camp prison, or in Arthur's basement cell.... I just want to make sure they arn't at England's house o3o

Irish Revolution [British Isles & US ONLY] Celt_Warrior_Woman_by_lanista8

The night in the remote British woodlands was dim. Rain drizzled miserably over the tents of people who took refuge in the forests' black density. Flickering fires under shelters of woven tarps and tents drifted lazily as the soldiers carried out their night businesses.

A figure sat next to one of the flickering, sheltered fires, leaning slightly against the brown side of a horse who layed on the ground behind her. Rori Kirkland sat with her legs folded, elbow resting against a knee, and her lips touching her knuckles in thought while her other hand aimlessly stroked her mare's head. The Celt had been quite angered when her uncle had started bossing her mother around, but was more aggravated than anything when Ireland ordered her to stay behind while she fought for their freedom. Rori couldn't see why she had to stay behind instead of joining her mother in the battle field. Sure, she might just be a simple town of Adare... yet was she not just as much irish as Eireann?!

So, like an immature rebellious teenage girl, Rori took her men behind her mother's back and began rampaiging British towns. Her efforts were far from futile; about twenty-three British cities were set aflame, leaving a trail of fire, blood, and severed heads behind the barbaric Celtic army.

Rori's army was not large and not have modern weapons such as guns and such, yet they made up for their few numbers with fox-like stealth, foolproof battle tactics and stratigies, and brute, savage force once they did attack. Rori and her troops quietly snuck into the towns under the cover of night and slit the guard's throats from behind, or shot them down with poisoned darts or arrows. Once they drew curious attention to one side, another group snuck in and slaughtered the people in their sleep before setting the town ablaze and vanishing in the darkness of the woodlands. Most of the time, the people never knew what hit them, nor did anyone else notice until either morning, or when the troops were already good and gone. One other advantage... their ready opponents were usually caught quite off guard to see a viking-like army charging at them on horseback with arrows, axes, and swords; That sight is quite odd to an era of guns and other modern weapons. But no matter... with each British city burned, the weaker Britain itself got. However, other British cities began guarding their towns more heavily, especially at night, as word of "phantom invasions" spread. Rori and her troops needed to find a way to begin striking the stronger cities... but things might be more difficult with the new security.

Rori was currently pondering over this situation, forming as many logical battle movements she can in her mind. Suddenly, the sound of clanking armor and thudding hooves snapped her out of her train of thought. The firey-haired Celt rose her emerald eyes upwards, and stood once she saw her troop of scouts returning.

The leader of the scouts was a heavy-built man with a thick, dark beard and the dressing of a viking. He reined his large grey horse and nodded his head toward Rori.

"Miss Adare..." The Celtic soldier greeted in a deep voice.. "We 'ave returned with news. We saw yer mother battl'en the Brit and 'is army. But she wasn't alone, ma'am. There was another fight'en with 'er... some blond with glasses an' the color flag of red, white an' blue. Know who 'e is?"

Rori blinked a bit, yet heart leaping at the scout's words. Her mother was spotted fighting? Good... that means that she's alright. The Celt nodded a bit at the mention of the blond man fighting with her mother. Ireland mentioned to her that they had an important ally called America. His territory was across the ocean... Rori has never met this so-called "American" before... but she was glad this ally was true to his word and was truly fighting with Ireland.

"Aye." The Celt replied. " 'es an ally... did ya stay for the results of tha fight, or were they just start'n?"

"Miss Ireland and 'er ally were captured in the 'eat of battle, ma'am." The scout's large, black eyebrows furrowed in a frown.

Rori's stomach sank. A rumble of thunder rippled in the distance, adding it's voice to the few moments of silence, yet the Irish teen didn't hear it.

    ".....Captured....?"

    "Aye. I'm afraid so, ma'am."

"Do ya know where they're currently located?"

    " 'Fraid not."

Rori clicked her tongue behind her front teeth in thought for a few moments. A plan suddenly began to stitch together in her mind; It was risky... but it just might work.

"I know what we 'ave to do." An emerald flame jumped suddenly in her eyes. As the scout got off his horse and dismissed his men, Rori walked into her tent and came out with her map and some sort of board of some sort. It resembled a board game, or a chess set of some sort... but it was an extremely detailed map of the British area, and the peices resembled different parts of both the British army and his allies, and the Irish army and their allies. It was indeed a board game... only it played out the game of War.

"General.... the time for stealth an' raiding is o'er. We're striking that dull-'eadded Brit right in the core and gett'n my mum outt'a there...."

Both Adare and the large scout knelt to the ground as the teen began to draw something in the dirt next to the board.

    " 'ere's the plan......."

Amelia sat behind her desk, reading a rather trivial novel. A knock came on her door, but she was not expecting anyone at the moment. "Yes?" she asked as she closed her book. "Ma'am," one of her men addressed her as he entered, "you're brother...he's...he's been captured." The American's blue eyes widened in shock, "Captured?" The man in front of her gave her a curt nod, "Yes ma'am, by England." Amelia stood abruptly, "Prepare the men to leave. It's time we get involved in this war." With a salute, the man left to carry out his orders. Amelia pulled out her pistol from her left desk drawer and checked it over, looking out her office window, "What have you gotten yourself into, brother?"

Arthur smirked darkly, stepping out of the shadows to stand right in front of the cell that contained the prisoner. "Well, this went exactly as planned, did it not?" He said sarcastically as he grinned at her. "Funny. You were talking big and all I got out of you was a couple of deaths, and some bruises. I really don't appreciate that some of my men died because of your stupid plan. t's going to cost me now that I'm short on men." Glaring, emerald eyes void of any emotion but pain, anger, and hurt. "Let's talk about how you'll be paying for their lives, yes?"

One thing the Briton was glad about was the fact that Alfred was held in a cell further down the corridor from the sell Ireland was held in. Her screams of agony would be able to be heard, so should he be concious, he'd know his turn would be next after Arthur was doing dealing with his sister.

Eireann twitched angrily at the sound of her brother's voice, slowly pushing herself up to a sitting position against the wall. Her emerald eyes brewed with hellish flames of hatred for the brother she once loved. He spoke without thinking of the impact of his words...or perhaps, that was his trick all along.

A pained hiss ripped from the Irish woman's throat. "Ya think yer the one short on men? Do ya really think that? How many of my men did ya kill Arthur?! I'm sure it was more men than I stole from ya! You brought this bloodshed on yourself." She wrapped an arm around her abdomen, wincing as her excited emotions brought a new surge of discomfort from her injury. She regrettably had to soften her voice to continue. "Why'd ya do it? Sinn Fein never did anythin' to yew. They were just speakin' out, tryin' to restore the spirit that our nation lost after the mass death toll from the famine. I was dying, Arthur. An' while Scot, an' Charles, an' Pat begged ya to do something, yew did NOTHING! If it wasn't fer Alfred's help, I'd be DEAD right now!" A sad tinge invaded Eireann's gaze.

"What happened to ya? Yer only kickin' others while they're down. That's not the lil' brother Scot an' I gave our lives to raise!" She pulled her arm away from her wound, observing a stream of blood run from her arm to her fingertips, dripping onto the floor in a sanguine puddle.

    Where did we go wrong?

Amelia gripped the railing of the little metal boat that was slowly bobbing her to the island. "Please, don't let anything happen to them. Let them hold out a little longer." She murmured to herself, completely beside herself with worry. She had received no other word since the day she heard of her brother's capture. Entirely in the dark, the American could only assume the worst.

Her men were not on this boat with her. She had decided it would be best for her to get there a day ahead and see what the situation was before she ran into another country and blasted everything away. It was one of her more rational moments, though she was all but exploding with concern and anger. While she still felt quite a bit of guilt toward Britain, she also held a bit of a grudge, being a female and all. If it came down to it, for her brother and for the freedom of Ireland, she would take the necessary measures.

At the moment, her only concern was locating her brother and Eireann. However, she had no idea what sites awaited her on those shores.
