    Austrian Ball [Open to everyone]

Post  Francis Bonnefoy on May 19th 2012, 7:59 pm

The soft melodic tones sounded, ringing throughout the halls of the Edelstein manor. Seated on the leather piano chair, Leisel softly played out the musical tune, key after key, rarely-if at all-glancing at the sheets of music in front of her. Sitting beside her on the floor, muzzle resting on Leisel's thigh as she played, was Pascal. The large German Shepherd twitched an ear, remaining silent, tail wagging once or twice. After another moment or so, the piano piece slowly came to a faded end, and Pascal let out a soft bark, tail beginning to wag rapidly.

A faint, almost amused smile tugged at the corner of Leisel's lips, followed by a soft chuckle as she gently scratched in between Pascal's ears and stood up from her seat, adjusting her glasses before briskly checking the time on the clock across the room. ”Come, Pascal.” Her tone was quiet as Leisel turned, whistling softly with catch the dog’s attention. With Pascal eagerly trotting at her side, Leisel walked across the room, glancing out the front window for a moment before opening the door and ushering Pascal outside.

“Stay and guard. Attack zat Prussia if he comes.” Pascal barked softly in response, laying down by the door obediently and gazing out at the front lawn and the partly open gate of the manor. Nodding in approval, Leisel closed the door and hurried down the hall, almost smiling in amusement at the thought of Gilbert actually coming. Naturally, the Austrian had invited just about most of the nations; all except that troublesome pest, of course. However, she knew enough about that Prussian to be aware how much of a party-crasher he could be; coming uninvited was the last thing she wanted to see, but of course, it was unavoidable. As tolerable as Leisel might act toward the other nations, even she wasn’t hospitable enough to invite the Prussian-especially to a formal ball. Although, a party-crasher was naturally expected.

With a sigh, Leisel proceeded to check if everything was set properly; calming music in the dining room, food and drinks set out, Pascal guarding the front entrance, and the scent of roses lingering in most of the manor’s rooms. The only thing missing was the guests, which hopefully would arrive soon.

“Oh what the hell!” Max yelled as the sound of snarls filled the outside. “Get down, mutt! Ugh!” the pestering growls kept fillings the air.

Though Max was a bit of a stranger, he had come to this get together to see if he could make a new friend.. Or something like due to his mind not being all together from the poker game and wine earlier. All and all though, Max was at least going to make an effort to be somewhat friendly tonight. He even had a brought some flowers for the host.. A thank you gift.

Shaking from his few of dogs, the Frenchman retraced a few steps from the Shepherd and let out a sigh of relief. Oh how he was worrying that his bad juju was going to effect him..

Just stay calm, Max.. The dog stopped pestering.. Everythings cool.

Alerted by Pascal's growls and snarls, Leisel sighed and hurried to the door. Pascal, hackles raised and ears flattened, carefully watched the Frenchman through narrowed eyes, almost in a glare. The Shepherd was considerably relaxing his defensive posture after a moment, however, seeing as the Frenchman didn't seem to be much of threat.

Pascal backed off slightly, bristling fur soon laying flat, although the soft, warning growl remained rumbling in his throat. Leisel, surprised, quickly opened up the door. "Easy, Pascal." Leisel glanced at Max, head tilted slightly. "Hello." She greeted in a formal tone, much like her father's, questioning gaze flickering to the Frenchman.
