    Bridge Of Misfotune 2802036-532844-wooden-bridge-over-stream-with-small-waterfall

A dead end, that's what it was inside their dream. The other side of the river allured them to cross it on a not so suspicious wooden bridge. The river was small and didn't look to be deeper than the tip of a shoe. The clear water caressed the pebbles as it rapidly moved toward the valley. The bridge was short and lightly arched... it looked like a safe bridge. Little did anyone know that bridge brought only misfortune to those who dared cross it.

Once they set foot on it, the short bridge would become longer. A quick glance away and the other end would be a mile away. It was a bridge without end, that brought only disaster.

    Dare to cross it?

    Information about the RP

It takes place in a dream.
It doesn't matter how you get to the bridge for in the end, they all reach it.
You can meet with other characters, or share the same dream, but the number of characters must be limited to about 4.
Everyone has to be alone at first and support the misfortunes by themselves, you can meet other characters afterwards.
It can be tricky, too! For instance, if Ivan meets Yao on the bridge and Alfred reaches the two, Alfred can either see both of them, or just one of them... or he can see other characters besides those two hence confusing the two.
OR, Alfred could meet a fake Ivan - who is just a figment of his own imagination, if you please - while the real Ivan is crossing the bridge with the real Yao.
You can play with the characters however you want! It's a dream, after all.

The misfortunes will be caused by the last one who replies, for instance:
Ivan will post his first reply, Feliciano - who is the next one to reply after Ivan - will take the role as the Bridge Of Misfortune and give Ivan his punishment.
Keep in mind that you're not supposed to cause misfortune to only one roleplayer. Think of it like a spider web!

I'd appreciate it if we used Canon Characters rather than OCs, but since there are people who don't roleplay as Canon, I will let them join as their OCs. All others must use Canon.

Fog. All the American saw was the thick, grey fog surrounding her. She was dreaming, but it felt so real. The air was heavy as she walked through the fog. The scenery didn't change no matter how long she walked. Finally, she stopped, "I just want out of this creepy fog." she shuttered. Slowly, the fog seemed to roll back and in front of her appeared a bridge. Curious, Amelia walked toward it and looked at the small wooden construction. Suspecting nothing, she stepped onto the wooden bridge and began to walk. Suddenly, the end seemed very far away. Turning around, it was the same effect. In a panic, she began to run toward the end.

It was all a blur. There was a thick and heavy fog-- everywhere. How had it all started? He didn't know. All he knew was that he couldn't see what was ahead of him at all. He hadn't even noticed himself being there, nor could anyone be aware in a dream. He just was, like everything else consumed by the eerie fog. The land was grey and white, and nothing seemed to escape it.

Aristeo walked forward, wherever that was. In fact he seemed to go nowhere but deeper into the dream, deeper where he might have never been able to walk out from. But the land wasn't grey and white anymore; there was a blurred brown color just to his right. He stopped then, but it seemed like he was getting closer to it. Suddenly the dream shook as if there were a physical earthquake, and he heard the falling and crashing of rocks- what rocks?

A bridge was before him the whole time, but he hadn't seen it or known it was there. It was a small bridge in the middle of a practical nowhere. But in a dream you don't think since your thinking the dream. You could only feel the dream and its emotions but you could never have your own separate thoughts. Instead Aristeo walked towards it, there were no thoughts to tell him otherwise.

But suddenly the dream shook again. This time there were no rocks, but instead a low grumbling noise. It came from around the bridge, something slipped from under the bridge and curled around it. Once Aristeo looked back, he saw that he was on the bridge, and it wasn't short at all. It extended as long as the eye could see, and he noticed that it was silent. The serpent-like thing was gone.

    What the....

Once he turned back again, it appeared once again. The only thing he could seenwas that the thing was brown, just like the bride. It seemed to blend in with the wood, and that could have been dangerous for anyone that did not notice.

It was quiet. A little too quiet as the Russian woman looked around. She wrapped her scarf tight around her neck and walked forward. Crunch... crunch... went the sound of her boots as she walked through the snow. She looked again and this time, she saw a bridge before her. The bridge was completely made of ice as the ground was covered with a white blanket of snow.

Unsure of it was safe or not, the Russian took the shovel in her hand and lightly tapped the bridge with it. The bridge was sturdy and so she put one foot on it. The moment she did, the atmosphere grew colder. She turned to look around and saw that there was nothing there.

The only way to go was forward now. "Da... I'll continue walking until dis bridge stops me."

As she began to walk, a light snow began to fall upon her and a chill went up her spine. A cackle went through the wind as she walked, chilling her but her curiosity never wavered.

"Come to me... my child. You can never escape me..."

She shivered at the cryptic voice but continued to walk. This was the beginning of the dream; the beginning of her nightmare.

    Bridge Of Misfotune Hungar10

There was little to no sound as if all the birds that once sung at the top of their lungs became muted, the wind and breeze that flew though the branches of trees and made the green leaves dance, was silent, and the buzzing sound of the bugs was also quiet. All she could hear was the faint sound of her feet crushing the grass beneath them.
It was far too quiet for a summer day.

She was dressed in her white nightgown that reached just above her knees, with long sleeves and buttoned up to her throat.

She wasn't sure where she was, yet at the same time, she knew the path towards a location she couldn't quite put her finger on. It was weird, as if she were summoned there. Her feet refused to take another path or stop at all. Her body had a mind of it's own for even her head refused to turn to look at her surroundings or behind her. She could only move her eyes from left to right. It was weird, but she didn't seem to complain, nor realise she was, in fact, dreaming.

She continued to walk, and walk... the sight ahead didn't change at all, except for only one thing...
The soft, tickling feeling of the grass changed to a more rougher surface similar to that of wood. Elizaveta blinked surprised and finally regaining the control of her own body, she managed to bend her upper body lightly and look down at her feet. Wood...? Suddenly, the sound of a small river and birds chirping flooded the place. She straightened her back and looked around with a look of puzzlement. "I didn't see there was a bridge around here... How curious.", she murmured. The bridge was slightly curved upwards and the other end looked to be just around 20 feet away. Eliza took only one step forward to climb up the small bump, however it didn't feel like one at all... the bridge was as straight as it could be. She blinked a bit surprised and muttered a confused "Hmm?". She took another step forward. It was just a blink of her eyes - that seemed to last more than intended - and the sound of the small river changed into that of the violent waves of the ocean clashing during a storm. It was deafening, and Eliza's eyes snapped wide open. The other end was lost in a fog, the bridge was straight and the only view on either side of the bridge was the water running to the right.
She made no sound, but her body stiffened from surprise and also the sudden cold. Her lips parted to let out an exhale that became visible to the eye. Her hands clasped each arm as her arms folded against her chest for warmth. The shivering Hungarian turned around to look at the other end, but both ends were much too far for her eyes to see land, as if she were in the middle of a giant bridge.

The wind howled like a ghost meant to scare the intruders in a haunted house or cemetery at night ... it was unreal, but what she felt seemed real. She felt tiny drops of rain crashing into her skin like small daggers. One moment later and it rained cats and dogs. Her hair soaked against her skin and so did the thin nightgown she wore. She turned back to her initial direction and proceeded to walk, slowly and heavily...

    -- T h e B r i d g e --

The fog returned, thicker than it was before. Any sight the American had in front was covered by a white wall of fog. As the female ran, the fog would suddenly dissipate and a big chunk of the bridge would be cut off leaving a giant space between them. One look back and the bridge would be cut on the other side as well. As she looked from one side to another, the chunk she was standing on became smaller, and smaller.

Once he gazed away again, the serpent-like thing was gone from both sides. The hissing sound that unmistakably belonged to more than just one snake was heard, but there was no sight of any creature anywhere. Little did Aristeo know that on one of the railings - not mentioning which - was covered in small, hidden serpents brown as the bridge and vicious as a cobra.
The bridge began to rock from one side to another like a rocking chair - gently at first, but strong enough to make anyone lose their balance and fall. As he continued his journey, the rocking motion of the bridge enhanced. It began to resemble a swing in a park rather than a rocking chair.

Ice coated the bridge from the far end as Ivana's surroundings darkened. Giant icicles formed above her hanging from a high, dark ceiling. Under the bridge was a huge dark gap that seemed to lead towards the very core of the Earth.
The sound of her steps echoed in that giant cave. If she made a louder noise, the icicles would shake and fall.

Amelia skidded to a stop, nearly tumbling over the edge of the gap in the bridge. "The hell?" she exclaimed as she held on to the railing to stop herself. It was a long way down, but just a little while ago it had been a rather trivial stream. "That's it, I'm over this bridge thing." she grumbled and turned around to trudge back where she came from. As soon as she turned around, another large gap met her. "You have got to be kidding me." she growled and frustration. Each time she turned around, she could swear the platform she was standing on was getting smaller and smaller. There weren't many options left for the American. Figuring the bridge would be likely to disappear underneath her when it got to that point, she decided she didn't have much to lose and might as well go down in flames. There wasn't much space for a running start, but she used what she had. Taking off from one end, she ran and jumped at the very last second.

She landed hard against the wood on the other side of the gap. Her ankle twisted and caused her to fall. "Well that was graceful." she muttered to herself as she stood slowly and saw that the gap really was nothing more than a missing plank of the base of the bridge.

It was an illusion, but that won't always be the case on this bridge.

The American grumbled and turned to continue on her way, the throbbing of her ankle giving her a slight limp and slower gait.

As the air chilled around her, the sky had turned a dark black. She exhaled and saw her own breath and shivered from the cold. Crack! She looked up and saw that a line of sharp, freshly formed icicles were directly above her head. One was right above her and it was breaking. If she had a chance to survive, it would be to run.

Taking a chance with the slippery bridge, Ivana got on her stomach and began to slide down the bridge.

The icicles cracked loudly and slowly began to fall one by one as she slid down the bridge wondering where it would take her. The bridge was the perfect slide and when she reached the next part of the bridge just as the last icicle fell. She stood up and turned around. The last icicle that fell was a big one and it prevented her from turning around and going back.

Ivana shivered for she felt that the atmosphere had grown colder. She put her scarf over her nose and saw that she was in a cave which the bridge went inside. The cave itself was dark but it was illuminated by small crystals which gave the Russian some light to see. The cave seemed endless and was made of nothing but pure ice. As she walked past, her reflection was shown throughout the cave. "Where am I?" she asked, herself.

"Get down! Man your stations! Protect de motherland! All for Mother Russia!" a voice cried.

Ivana hardly couldn't believe it and her amethyst eyes widen in shock. Dis is... impossible... she thought as she looked around to see Russian and American soldiers all at war. "Dis... is the Cold War...

"Russian!" a familiar voice said. Ivana knew whom the voice belonged to and couldn't believe it. This war was over but why was she here of all places? She turned around and looked straight into the sky blue eyes of Amelia F. Jones. "Privet Amerikan."

Amelia was wearing her military attire and in her hands was a rifle as she aimmed it at Ivana. A cold smirk was on her lips. "Just you and me now... Ivana Braginska." Ivana stared at the rifle in Amelia's hand. Did Amelia intend to fight her? A cold chill went up her spine as a cryptic voice whispered in her ear.

"This is the first of your many tasks. Fight her and make her suffer."

Ivana closed her eyes and then looked at Amelia. "Very well. I will take back my loss from dis war and if it is a fight you want, it's a fight you will get." Amelia smirked and loaded her rifle. "Let's begin the game.

Everything looked like it was colder. The grey color turned into a deeper shade of navy, and the stubborn clouds didn't seem to lift one bit. The serpent was still there, still as as statue, existing without a solid shape. The thing looked like it would fade away with the clouds, and for one moment he believed it would be swept away.

    But it remained still.

The state then turned back and walked again, each step seeming to weaken the wood more and more. Maybe the loud creaks would anger the serpent, but when he turned back it was there uninterrupted. Maybe it was asleep.

But once he started to walk again something slipped around his foot. He slowly, unbelievingly, examined his foot to find nothing there. Was there no way off this dreaded bridge? He looked over the railing of the bridge, only to stare off into nothing. There's nothing but more fog...

When he straightened up there was a sharp hissing sound that made him jump back. Something snapped at him, then another and another. There was no time not to react, so he turned on his heels and ran from the hissing animals. He was sure he had run away from them, but they were at his heels. He saw someone else run parallel to the bridge.

    "Amelia!"

He was sure within himself that it was indeed her, but he didn't know why he called out to her. They had a decent relationship- but he was just glad that he wasn't alone.

    "Can you hear me?"

He intended to yell, but he could only speak. He wanted to jump up and wave his hands, get her attention, at least have the capability of being seen.

It was all turning into a nightmare. He may have been reserved and silent often when he was awake, but his greatest fear was not to be able to speak anymore. But he wasn't aware that he was dreaming.

He stubbornly continued to yell, and the snakes slipped away. He saw someone else then. Hungary..? She probably couldn't see him through the thickness. Both girls looked to be close enough to see each other, yet they didn't.

This time the bridge cracked. Aristeo gasped and snapped his head back to where the splitting sound was coming from. The planks of wood were falling into the abyss one by one, deep down forever. Aristeo's eyes widened and he ran any way he could now. He saw Hungary in front of him, but he didn't know if she saw him. It mattered.

"Run! Don't even turn back, just run!"

Dear God just make her listen.

    "Amelia!"

The American turned around to see just who had called her name. She thought that she had been entirely alone on this horrible bridge. There was no one there. "Who are you?" she asked, attempting to keep her voice from shaking. It was likely another punishment from the bridge.

    "Can you hear me?"

Amelia nodded and kept trying to see where the voice was coming from. It was strange, the voice sounded slightly familiar. It wasn't ominous either, but she wasn't going to trust anything on the bridge.

The American waited to hear something else from the voice. Even if it meant she was slightly insane, talking to a figment of her imagination would be better than nothing.

He sighed, he had been wandering for hours. The Romanian did not know how he had gotten to where he was -the last thing he remembered was him falling asleep. Could he have been sleep walking? No. He never once had an event where he had done so. Whatever the case, he had been wondering the forest filled with a dense fog for what seemed like an eternity, and the seemed to be no and to it, nor was there anything different than the fog and trees.

Finally, to his relief, he came across a change in scenery, though what he had been seeing for a while remained. In front of him, there sat a bridge over a running stream that he could barely hear. As he stepped closer, he noticed that what should have been water under the bridge was instead a crimson liquid. He recognized the smell alltoo well. Blood.

He froze. The large amount of crimson caused memories of a gruesome reign in his country. It was when Vlad III (better known as Vlad the Impaler) ruled the country of Romanian that many people lost their lives. Vlad had been a cruel man, killing whom ever he pleased, no matter their age.

Alin did not want to proceed forward, but he knew that there was nothing in the direction that he had came. He slowly advanced, though he could feel his body trmebling slightly as the bloody memories were stuck in his mind. Given his morbid nature, that time of his country had terrified him, and he dreaded everytime he relived it.

He paused in the center of the bridge, believing that he had finally seen someone else in this forest. He didn't care who it was, though he knew his eyes could be playing tricks on him, and called over to the sillouette in his native language.

    "Salut?"

As Ivana wandered more into the dream, suddenly everything around her turned a bloody crimson. She saw the silhouette of more soldiers as a horrible sight fell upon her. The crimson nightmare was punishing her of her sins; all the wrong she had done. She curled up and cried.

    -- The Bridge --

The crimson nightmare descended upon the Romanian and the smell of blood continued. The silhouette revealed itself to be Ivana, the cruel Russian that had imprisoned his people so many years ago. She had her trusty shovel and was burying something in the ground.

    "Salut."

Ivana turned around and gave Alin a cruel smile. "Privet, Romania. You are just in time to watch his funeral, da."

    //I'M BAAAAAAACK~

The last thing he wanted to see was someone else from the horrible past of his country. He stared at the Russian for quite some time before looking away. The stream was still red, and so he tightened his grip on the railing of the bridge when he knew it would be better just to leave, yet he was curious. Whose funeral was this?
