Excuse me a moment. I have to go and retrieve Alfred. He has dug himself a hole, stuck his head in it, and then covered it
At first, Ivan's words had done little to the American. He continued to glare defiantly into the amethyst orbs, becoming uncomfortable with the way the Russian leaned in closer. If he moved any closer, the American might have to consider kicking him away, but as Alfred sat there and took what Ivan had to say, his defiant look was slowly beginning to fade. Alfred care little for what people had to say about him, but when Arthur was ever mentioned...well, it had quite the affect on the American.
With his eyes reflecting his stunned silence and his lips parted just slightly, he watched as Ivan's expression shifted. The American could feel the aura in the room change drastically and he knew he had made a mistake by treating Dominika the way he did. Positively, he began to shrink in the chair, wincing as the Russian began to speak again. His heart beat against his rib cage and the American wouldn't be surprised if it broke free. Unable to hold the Russian's eyes anymore, he hung his head, wincing again as the Russian named off facts about the American.
"Grow up, Jones!"It was funny how alike he and Arthur sounded. Alfred had been instructed to grow up his entire life, but what if he didn't want? What if he wanted to be his own person - free of any control any government might try to weigh him down with. So, the other nations wouldn't understand, now...but in the future...Alfred would prove them wrong. His fingers curled against the armrests of the chair and he gritted his teeth, eyes shielded by his blond bangs. He would prove them all wrong. He would become the strongest and he would stomp out the light communism tried to burn within this world, or any other government that was against his own for that matter.
Still, despite his anger, he had been hurt. Defeated, really. It would be foolish to talk back. Lord only knew what Ivan might do next...
Slowly, the American got to his feet. He raised his head, his expression having become nearly blank, if not for the bit of anger that flickered within his sky-blue eyes. He stared directly into the amethyst orbs.
"I wish I could say I wasn't offended by anything you said, but I was. However, I'll give you what you want. I'll change my behavior to the best of my ability, but Ivan..." He had begun to head toward the exit. He stopped just in front of the door and glanced over his shoulder,
"...don't be surprised when it turns out everything you ever said about me, was wrong." And he pulled the door open, blinking when he realized a girl was standing outside the room. How long had she been there? Nevertheless, the American moved around her and headed for class, shoving his hands into the pockets of his pants.
In the end, he had stood up to the principal, but goodness...Ivan had seriously scared him for a minute there. That was worse than facing a ghost. He glanced over his shoulder, eyeing the fading office.
"You'd feel pretty stupid if I ever became the boss of you one day." He mumbled, turning his head back as he neared his next class.
Stupid reply is stupid...
But, Ivan...
THIS BE MOTHERFRACKIN' AMERICA. YOU BEST BE RESPECTIN, MAN. HE'S GONNA BE YOUR LEADER ONE DAY.
